No Exercise Often Increases Risk of More Malverne Pain & Disease Progression

Do something. Walk. Stretch. Move. Pain sufferers benefit when they do something. No exercising is a risk for worsening pain, both pain in the body and pain in the mind in the form of depression. Malverne Health & Wellness takes care of many Malverne back pain patients in pain who also deal with depression. Malverne Health & Wellness also recognizes that when our Malverne chiropractic patients do something, they improve in body and mind.

NO EXERCISE INCREASES RISK OF STENOSIS PROGRESSION

Spinal stenosis is a common diagnosis. It’s the decrease of the spinal canal area because of degeneration. A new study reported that risk of spinal stenosis progression is higher for those with spondylolisthesis, experienced pain (in leg and/or back) when walking, and more severe stenosis. The lack of therapeutic exercise was also found to a risk factor for the progression of spinal stenosis. (1) Back pain sufferers like those who have spinal stenosis and spondylolisthesis benefit from exercise! Malverne Health & Wellness helps each of our chiropractic patients find what exercise fits them.

EXERCISE ENHANCES FUNCTION

Nonspecific low back pain sufferers enhanced their functional disability status more with stabilization and/or McKenzie exercises than with conventional exercise programs. (2) Notice though that exercise did help, conventional or not!

EXERCISE IMPROVES DEPRESSION

For many back pain sufferers with specific or non-specific back pain, chronic or not, may well find themselves a little sad when their back pain hangs around a while. It’s not unusual. Again, exercise to the rescue! Another study reported that exercise (low dose or moderate-dose strength and conditioning) helped decrease depressive symptoms in adults with chronic low back pain. Combining exercise and manual therapy was a plus! (3) Malverne Health & Wellness incorporates as many beneficial approaches to back pain relief as possible to help our Malverne back pain patients! The Cox® Technic System of Spine Pain Management is one of those approaches.
